Chris Shuler: (owner)
Chris has been interested in Hot Rods since he was very young. He grew up riding dirt bikes and playing sports. He became very interested in cars and started working on them by the age of 13 and painted his first car by the age of 14. After graduating High School in 1997 he attended Wyoming Technical Institute and studied collision/refinishing technology and custom paint. After graduation he came back to San Antonio and took anapprentice position at Alamo Body and Paint and started to perfect his craft. He worked as a metal technician for 3 1/2 years then moved to the front office where he began writing service and taking care of customers. At night in his parents garage Chris would do custom cars for customers and started to develop a customer base in which to launch his business. Chris decided to pursue his dream and open for business in the summer of 2001. Boerne Stage Kustoms opened for business and has not slowed down since. He leased a facility on Boerne Stage Road where the business steadily grew from a one man shop to a six man operation. Chris has been very blessed to have surrounded himself with great employees, customers and friends. Chris credits his family as a big portion of the shops success, without them it would have been a much tougher road. The shop has done a variety of work from collisions to custom frame off rebuilds, to motorcycles. In 2008 Chris decided to take the shop in a new direction to focus on Hot Rods and Kustom Cars, and built a 3800 square foot facility with a show room, build area, body shop, and paint facility in Center Point, Texas. Chris continues to be surrounded by great people who are friends and also employees who share a passion for kustom kars and the growth of the shop.
Trent Hensley
Trent has had a passion for cars since he was a young kid. He can remember putting kustom paint jobs on his Hot Wheels as early as five or six years old. Trent is the artistic mastermind behind Boerne Stage Kustoms. His skill and vision as an artist comes naturally and many cars have benefited from his artistic hands. Trent came to work for Boerne Stage Kustoms in 2004 and has made himself an asset to the business. Trent is currently working on a '49 Ford Sedan that is truly a one of a kind Kustom. Trent helps Chris run the day to day operations of the shop, and is passionate about the growth and reputation of the business.
Aaron Matcek
Aaron came to Boerne Stage Kustoms as a high school kid eager to learn about building Hot Rods and Kustoms. He started off by sweeping the floors and is now building cars on his own after Chris and Trent took him under their "wings" and taught him the skills he now uses on a daily basis as a skilled fabricator. Aaron is very good with our customers and keeps clients updated with e-mails and photos of the build process. He currently has a '53 Chevy, chopped and bagged, and a Model A Sedan waiting. Boerne Stage Kustoms is proud to have such a energetic and skilled craftsman as a member of their staff.
